For young leaders who wish to serve, there is a subsidized opportunity called the Ready for UNICEF serve Program in the USA 2024.A group of young leaders known as UNICEF USA nationwide Youth Council advocates for CHILD RIGHTS on a nationwide scale. Young leaders between the ages of 14 and 24 are eligible to apply for this USA volunteer program. They establish trusting bonds with one another, talk about optimistic thinking, and assess youth voice. This funded opportunity in the USA unites talent in one location to foster global community building.

The program’s participants help the club and volunteer network, advocate for a change in policy, and elevate the voices of young people to a global platform where they are silenced. All foreign volunteers who connect with leaders who are enthusiastic about child rights are welcome to participate in the USA volunteer program. In order to increase the voice of youth in UUSA’s operations, strategy, and culture, the UNICEF Council collaborates internally with staff and leadership. Responsibilities of the Council Members

The key responsibilities of the Council Members are:

  1.  Raise the Youth Voice: They call the Council Members throughout the year that represent the
  2. UNICEF USA and raise the Youth Voices in the events and meetings locally or globally, as well as create social content for UUSA’s social media channels.
  3. • Support the Volunteer Programs and Youth Programs: The UNICEF Council members provide suggestions for the Volunteers and Young people in social justice work.
  4. •Inform Youth: Many of the UNICEF volunteer program aims to educate and motivate the Youth, volunteers, and staff about important topics of UNICEF’s work. Raise the children and youth issues through media.
  5. • Make a Network: They build relationships with each member of UNICEF including Youth Representatives, and UNICEF Clubs, support the MSC (management of the Slack community), and host digital communication with students.

Financial Coverage of the USA Volunteer Program

The Volunteer opportunity in the USA provides benefits to the Volunteers including:

Volunteer Commitments with UNICEF

  1. The volunteers Commit to serve a one-year term from 1st August 2024 – 30 May 2025
  2. Interested Council members who are serving more than one term are highly
  3. encouraged to again apply for this program at unicefusa.org (page 2)
  4. Able to spend 3 to 5 hours per week with the Council-related projects, meetings, training and other related program activities.
  5. They must work with passion and well-organized manners.
  6. Your presence is required for the Tuesday, session at 7:30-8:30 PM EST
  7. Must attend the in-person and virtual Training of UNICEF.

Training & Events Timeline

Summer Training

During August, The National Youth Council members must be available for the following Virtual and in-person events held by the UNICEF Council:

  1. Wednesday:  7 August at 7:30-8:30 PM (EST)
  2. Saturday: 17 August 12:00 to 4:00 PM (EST)
  3.  Sunday: 18 August at 12:00 to 4:00 PM (EST)
  4. Tuesday:  27 August 7:30 to 8:30 PM (EST)

Fall Training

The National Youth Council members must be available in November for an in-person training program. The day and time specified as:

  1.  Wednesday: 23rd October
  2. Sunday: October 27th
